LAKE HELEN REFERENDUM

Approval of expending restricted net sale proceeds from electric utility sale

The sale of the City’s Electric System was passed by the voters with a restriction that the net proceeds not be spent without voter approval which makes the funds unavailable for timely use during an emergency or disaster. The City Commission requests approval to expend the money in event of a declared emergency by the Governor which includes the City as long as funds expended are replenished by reimbursement proceeds from disaster assistance if any.
