ORLANDO, Fla. — Ahead of the release of “Avatar: The Way of Water,” the sequel to James Cameron's "Avatar," Disney has added new projections to the Tree of Life at Animal Kingdom.

The park’s nighttime Tree of Life Awakenings show now includes images inspired by the new movie as well as Pandora-The World of Avatar. 

The new sequence, produced as part of a collaboration between Lightstorm Entertainment and Disney Live Entertainment, includes images of creatures from the world of Avatar, including the Ikran, the mountain banshees featured in the Avatar Flight of Passage attraction.

Disney didn't specify an end date for the "Avatar" sequence, but said it will run for a limited time.

Disney is adding other offerings inspired by “The Way of Water” at the park, including new food and drink options at Satu’li Canteen. A dish called Ocean Moon Bowl—with tuna and blue noodles—will be available starting Friday. A chocolate cake dessert called the Metkayina and the Ilu Splash Margarita also will be added to the menu.

“Avatar: The Way of Water” arrives in theaters Dec. 16.
