ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — Fantasmic!, the nighttime show at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, is set to return sometime this year, and although Disney has not yet shared when that will be, the company has provided an update that suggest it could be “soon.”

On Wednesday, Disney revealed that cast rehearsals for the show have begun. The news was shared on the official Disney Parks Instagram account along with a video teasing the show’s return.

Fantasmic! first debuted in 1998 at Hollywood Studios, which at the time was called Disney-MGM Studios. The show features fireworks, lasers, characters, projections music.

It has been on hiatus since March of 2020, when Disney World closed in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. When it returns, the show will have a few updates, including a new scene, stunt performers, new animation and water effects.
