According to a leaked draft, the United States Supreme Court intends to overturn the landmark 1973 case of Roe v. Wade, which guaranteed a woman's right to privacy to choose whether or not to have an abortion nationwide.

The high court confirmed Tuesday the draft opinion, obtained and published by POLITICO, is authentic but said it does not represent a decision by the court nor is the ultimate position of its members.

SMU Health Law Professor Seema Mohapatra joined Spectrum News on Tuesday to discuss the leaked opinion.

During our interview, Mohapatra, a Florida native who previously taught at FAMU, discussed the significance of the draft Supreme Court opinion, the outcome of the vote, and the impact on states if Roe v. Wade is overturned.
