The musical "Assassins" takes a pretty dark, yet somehow “comedic” look at the nine people who have attempted to assassinate one of the U.S. Presidents. It's taking place in a vacant, western-themed venue that was once a downtown Orlando hotspot.

  1. Assassins is probably unlike anything you've seen before. From John Wilkes Booth to Lee Harvey Oswald, the stories of our country's most notorious bad guys intersect in weird ways, creating an emotional look at some of the most shocking moments in our history.

  2. Cliff Price is the show's scenic designer. We caught up with him during load-in at the historic Cheyenne Saloon. “It is cavernous in here, almost,” he told us, looking high up at the balconies and ceiling.

  3. Cliff – who worked in Walt Disney World's entertainment department – says he wants to respect and pay homage to Cheyenne Saloon's design by incorporating its features into his scenic pieces. He's the man to do it, having designed shows with local theaters in Orlando, Sanford, Titusville and Melbourne.

  4. The show's stage centerpiece is a bullseye. “You'll see it's kinda ridden with bullet holes,” a result of the assassins.

  5. Assassins runs April 22 – May 1.
