A Carnival Horizon cruise ship has recovered the body of a man who went overboard, according to the company.

The Carnival Horizon cruise ship was conducting a search after the company said that an unnamed guest jumped overboard from the 11th deck of the ship Wednesday evening around 7 p.m. EST a few hours after leaving Grand Turk, Turks & Caicos Islands on Wednesday.

The ship immediately started rescue procedures and notified the U.S. Coast Guard, according to the statement.

In a later statement released at 10:30 p.m. EST, the company stated the body of the guest was recovered.

"Together with the U.S. Coast Guard the ship's crew located and recovered the body of the guest. Carnival's Care team is providing assistance to his family," according to the statement.

The release from Carnival Cruise Line said the ship was on a six-day cruise that departed Miami on Sunday and was scheduled to return on Saturday.

The latest statement said that the ship was cleared by the Coast Guard and could resume its course.
