The shelters will open at 5 p.m. and close at 7 a.m. the next day on Saturday and Sunday. Masks are required at all cold weather sheltering locations, and the Florida Department of Health will be conducting COVID-19 screenings at each shelter as well as offering hepatitis A, flu, and COVID-19 vaccinations.

LakeXpress, Lake County’s fixed route transportation service, will provide free transportation to riders who indicate they are traveling to a cold weather shelter. On Saturday, pickup time will be 4:30 p.m. at the Citrus Tower Parking Lot, 141 N. Hwy 27, Clermont for transport to LifePointe Church. In Eustis, pickup time is 5:30 p.m. at The Open Door, located at 115 E. Citrus Avenue in Eustis for transport to LifePointe Church. In Leesburg, there are two pickup times for transport to Trinity Assembly of God   — 5:30 p.m. at the intersection of 4th Street and Main Street and from 5:30 to 5:45 p.m. at Come As You Are Ministry at 1305 Sunshine Avenue in Leesburg,

The Lake County Office of Emergency Management is coordinating transportation to shelters in North Lake County for those homeless or disadvantaged individuals that are without heat. If transportation is needed, it will be available Saturday and Sunday evening from the Citrus Tower parking lot, located at 141 N Hwy 27, Clermont, Florida 34711. Pickup times will be at 4:30 p.m. each day.

Regional Lynx buses have agreed to provide complimentary transportation to the stop closest to a shelter as needed,. All an individual needs to do is say to the driver "I need a warm shelter" and the individual will be able to commute on Lynx to the stop closest to a participating shelter.

Volusia County

On the eastern side of the county, shelters that will open are dependent on volume, capability and capacity. Halifax Urban Ministries is coordinating a common pickup location at 340 North Street in Daytona Beach. Clients in need of sheltering on the county's east side should arrive at that pickup location by 4:30 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday.
