SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. — Most children are busy with school, sports and just being a kid.

But at just 9 years old, Jordyn Emile spends a lot of his time on a mission to help others.

  •  He recently set up a table in his front yard to collect donations for Hurricane Ida victims

  • He and his cousins have dubbed themselves "mini missionaries"

Emile isn’t afraid to get everyone’s attention when calling for donations. With some help from his family, he recently set up a table in his family’s front yard to collect items and money for victims of Hurricane Ida.

“I’d like to think of them as my family, because if my family was in this predicament then I would do the same thing if I could,” said Emile.

Emile has been looking for ways to help those in need for as long as he can remember.

“I’ve wanted to become a missionary since I was 4 years old, and I will not stop,” he said.

He says when people donate, it only makes him work harder.

“I am very happy, and that motivates me,” said Emile.

Emile and his family took the donated money and goods to his church, which will deliver the items to those hit hardest by the hurricane. Now, he is already thinking about the next group in need of help.

“I hope this is helpful,” said Emile.

Emile also works with some of his cousins who together have dubbed themselves the “Mini Missionaries.”
