Once again, Florida has established grim new records for COVID-19 in a single day.

The Florida Hospital Association said Saturday that 23,903 state residents tested positive for COVID-19 in a single day.

On Friday, the number was 22,783, which topped the previous one-day record.

COVID-19 hospitalizations are following the same record-breaking trend.

There are now 13,747 current COVID hospitalizations, according to Saturday data from the U.S. Department of Health and Human. That's about 300 higher than the number reported Friday.

Friday was the first time the state had eclipsed 13,000 at one time.
