ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — In conjunction with the upcoming release of Disney’s latest animated film Raya and the Last Dragon, Walt Disney World’s Animal Kingdom will launch two new experiences starting February 22.

  • Animation Experience offers chance to learn to draw characters 

From Friday through Sunday, visitors will be able to watch artists at work carving a 40-ton sand sculpture celebrating the new film at the Discovery Island Stage. The display will feature Raya, Tuk Tuk, Sisu the last dragon, and the Ongi, all set in the fantasy world of Kumandra. 

The carving will remain on display at Disney’s Animal Kingdom through the end of March.

At The Animation Experience at Conservation Station, visitors will be able to learn to draw characters from Raya and the Last Dragon, including Raya’s companion Tuk Tuk starting Monday The experience includes a behind-the-scenes look at the inspiration for Tuk Tuk shared by Kelly Marie Tran, who provides the voice of Raya in the film, and Awkwafina, the voice of Sisu.
