KISSIMMEE, Fla. — Give Kids the World Village will transform into a holiday wonderland illuminated with millions of lights next month for its first public event, Night of a Million Lights.

What You Need To Know

  • Give Kids the World Village to hold holiday event

  • Night of a Million Lights runs November 13 through January 3

  • Event will feature decorated villas, activities and hot cocoa

For the event, dozens of villas throughout the village will be adorned with lights and other festive decorations to create a magical walkthrough experience for visitors.

In a video released Tuesday, Give Kids the World shared a behind-the-scene peek at the event, which kicks off November 13 and runs through January 3. Crews were seen adding lights and other decorations to villas in preparation for next month’s debut.

In addition to the decorated villas, the event will feature more than 50 holiday-themed wireframe displays, an incandescent gingerbread arch, and a 19-foot Christmas tree.

“Night of a Million Lights is a spectacular holiday event that’s certainly going to lift everybody’s spirits,” said Pamela Landwirth, President and CEO of Give Kids the World Village. “Our village is going to come to life with over 3 million lights.”

Visitors will also be able to enjoy a few attractions as well as complimentary ice cream and hot cocoa.

To ensure social distancing, there will be staggered entry times. All visitors will be required to wear a face mask.

Give Kids the World Village provides week-long wish vacations for critically-ill children and their families. In mid-March, the village closed in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, delaying thousands of wishes. Proceeds from the Night of a Million Lights event will help fund wishes for when the village can reopen.

Tickets are now on sale for the event and can be purchased at gktw.org/lights.
