Nitekka Lennear, 27, was rushed to a hospital, where she died Tuesday.

Police said Lennear was upset about a social media post by her former girlfriend, Aniya Thomas, and while live-streaming, drove to an apartment complex off North Fiske Boulevard to confront the 21-year-old suspect.

Thomas is “currently intimately involved” with 19-year-old Leniquea Byrd, Cocoa Police spokeswoman Yvonne Martinez said.

Thomas and Byrd were both charged with second-degree murder in Lennear’s death.

“Video of the incident shows Lennear exiting her vehicle and walking up to the ‘D’ building where Lennear and her current girlfriend [confronted] Thomas and another female identified as Byrd,” Martinez said in a statement.

“The confrontation escalated into a physical fight between the couples and ex-couples,” Martinez  added. “In the video, a female is shouting ‘Shoot her! Shoot her!’”

Byrd was the shooter, police said. Thomas shouted “shoot her,” according to detectives.

Dispatchers were flooded with 911 calls about a shooting at 1080 N. Fiske Blvd. at about 6 p.m. Tuesday.

“Multiple shots were heard and the victim is seen in the video falling to the ground,” Martinez said. “The first officers to arrive on scene found the victim with multiple gunshot wounds and immediately began to render aid.”
