PALM BAY, Fla. — The former Palm Bay deputy city manager, who was recently arrested on racketeering, extortion, and drug charges, has bonded out of jail.

David Isnardi walked out of jail Friday after posting his $36,000 bond.

Isnardi and businessman Jose Aguiar were arrested last week after being accused of plotting to extort city officials and influence votes.

The both face ace racketeering, conspiracy to commit extortion, and drug charges, according to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.

"The whole purpose behind this plan is apparently to try and get some type of control over city officials by Mr. Aguilar, and be able to dictate some of their decision-making by elected officials," said Lee Massie, the FDLE Special Agent in charge.

FDLE and FBI agents started working on this case back in 2015.

If convicted, Isnardi could face up to 30 years in prison.

He is due back in court in June.
