The 25-foot-tall, 800-pound statue is located next to the new city parking garage and depicts a surfer launching into space.
The large sculpture was designed by lifelong resident Henry Lund, with the support of local resident Dr. Kristen Smallwood.
RDS Industrial fabricated the piece of art.
"It's supposed to capture the space culture, and the surf culture of Cocoa Beach," said Patrick Pacifico of RDS Industrial.
"It means a lot of have something like this in the town I grew up in," Lund said.
The sculpture will be dedicated when the Cocoa Beach Parking Garage opens at the end of the month.
