According to Florida Highway Patrol investigators, a 2007 Ford pickup was traveling northbound, from the entrance ramp of S.R. 50 to get on S.R. 429.

For some reason, the driver, 25-year-old Thomas Green, of Apopka, lost control of the pickup, crossed all the northbound lanes and overturned in the southbound lanes, on top of a 2007 four-door Toyota.

The driver of the Toyota, 39-year-old Yordani Mellado Perez, of Apopka, was killed, as well as a male passenger in the Ford pickup.

Green and another male passenger in the pickup were taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center. The passenger is in critical condition, and Green in serious condition.

Troopers have not released the names of pickup's passengers. They also say that Mellado Perez was wearing a seat belt but haven't determined whether the occupants of the pickup were.

The crash is under investigation, and charges are pending against Green.
