The crash happened at a home on Cheyenne Avenue in Melbourne around 3 p.m.

The driver's nephew told Spectrum News his uncle was in their driveway, and instead of applying the brake, he hit the gas.

Hitting the gas sent the Sedan zooming down, then up an embankment through a fence and partially into the neighbor's pool. The neighbor was home when it all happened.

“It was like a rocket ship. I thought the roof was caving in. I jumped out of the chair, and ran out here. It was unbelievable,” said neighbor Patti Solometo.

Police say the driver was ticketed in the crash.

The man’s nephew says they have insurance to cover the cost of the damages.
