ORLANDO, Fla. — Four people have been arrested in connection to the slaying of Alex Correa, who was killed in a home invasion in January, the Orange County Sheriff's Office said Tuesday afternoon.

Sheriff's investigators said a tip led to the arrests of these four people: Ashley Rhoda Joyce Dean-Webb, 20; Michael Salgado Soto, 27; Daquon Gathers, 23; and Taylor Massey, 22.

They all faces charges of with first-degree murder and burglary of a dwelling with battery, deputies said.

Correa, 20, was shot and killed January 14 at a home on Port Simbor Avenue, near Winter Park. Family members said Correa hid three young children in the home and fought the home invaders.

Spectrum News spoke with Alex’s father William Correa who reacted to the arrests.

“I was overwhelmed because this is what we have been waiting for,” Correa said.

But Alex’s family said they want justice for Alex.

“It’s a tragedy for everybody, but I will never have my son back,“ Correa said.

Deputies said they anticipate one more arrest but have not released that person's name.
