ORLANDO, Fla. — High pressure drifting over us tonight will shift over the western Atlantic on Tuesday, swinging our wind around to an onshore flow and bringing some warmer air back across the peninsula.

Under a clear to partly cloudy sky, lows will dip into the 40s inland but stay warmer in the 50s along some of our coastal communities.

Sun mixed with clouds will greet us Tuesday with highs into the upper 60s to lower 70s.

Our wind could gust up to about 20 mph from the east during the day. As that wind comes around from the southeast Wednesday, moisture will begin streaming back into the state. We'll mix in a few clouds with our sun again and see highs warm into the mid to upper 70s.

Another strong cold front is forecast to impact Central Florida on Wednesday night into Thursday, sending rain coverage up over 60 to 70 percent. We may even hear an isolated clap of thunder. Highs on Thursday will generally be in the 60s, with a few low 70s south and east of Interstate 4.

By Friday, we'll experience another blast of chilly air with highs in the middle 50s to lower 60s.

Well below average highs will stick around next weekend before another strong system potentially takes shape in the Gulf of Mexico early next week.

Big weather model differences at this time have us keeping a low rain chance Sunday and Monday, but this will need to be adjusted as we get closer.

Beach and Surf Forecast

Even though wave heights will climb up to around waist- to stomach-high at times Tuesday, a shifting windswell will create generally poor surfing conditions. We'll also have a rather gusty wind helping mush up the wave action. Our rip-current threat will bump up slightly, so use caution if you're planning a swim. Sea surface temperatures are currently in the low 60s along the Flagler and Volusia County coasts, upper 60s along the Brevard County coast. The ultraviolet index remains moderate.
