ORLANDO, Fla. — The government shutdown entered day 30 Sunday, and despite a new offer for Democrats to President Trump, federal workers we talked to say they are not expecting to see any relief.

Jeff Little has been an air traffic controller at Orlando Executive Airport for 3 years. He works in the tower. On a busy day, they could see more than 200 planes going in and out of Orlando Executive.

Little, like others workers, was supposed to get a paycheck last Tuesday.

“It said 0, 80 hours zero pay,” said Little.

He said his last paycheck was before the new year.

“A lot of confusion, a lot of uncertainty, home life gaining more stress, it’s a stressful job to begin with,” said Little.

Little said others he works with are feeling the pinch.

“We have got a couple single moms at our facility who are now raising kids. One lady has a handicapped brother that lives with her and she has that burden, there are a lot of people struggling,”  said Little.

Little watched as President Trump talked about his proposal for the Democrats Saturday afternoon.

“I didn’t see anything standing out that’s going to say 'tomorrow is an opening of the government,'" Little said. "I hope I am wrong, but it’s going take more than that to where the two sides can get together. I didn’t see anything that excited me too much in reference to paychecks and getting unfurloughed.”

Little, like many other federal workers, hope to get a paycheck soon.
