SANFORD, Fla. — The man charged in the March 2017 shooting of six people that left a woman and her young son dead has been sentenced to life in prison.

Allen Cashe, 32, was sentenced to life in prison Wednesday in a Seminole County courtroom.

Cashe previously pleaded no contest during a hearing in Sanford in December.

Cashe had originally pleaded not guilty to murder and attempted murder charges in the March 27, 2017 shooting.

On that date, Sanford detectives say Cashe stormed into the home of ex-girlfriend Tina Herring and shot her, her father, her two young boys before going outside and shooting a man walking down the street and a girl at a bus stop.

Herring and one of her sons died.

While addressing Judge Galuzzo Wednesday morning Cashe asked him for parole, which drew angry grunts and whispers from people in attendance.

In all, Cashe will spend seven life sentences behind bars as well as serve two consecutive 15 year sentences.

With distraught family members and friends speaking in the courtroom, Cashe remained quiet, unfazed, and showed little emotion

“Its not surprising for someone who does those kind of horrendous acts," Seminole County State Attorney Domenick Leo said. "I mean, to a point you have to disassociate yourself to a certain degree to even consider doing something like this. So not showing any emotion at a sentencing is not surprising to us.”

According to Judge Galuzzo, Allen Cashe has spent 660 days behind bars, and that number will only go up.

According to the state attorney, the decision for Cashe to spend life in prison was something immediate family wanted because it was a punishment he could not escape.
