ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — A 25-year-old man accused of spray painting swastikas on multiple buildings near the University of Central Florida has been arrested, according to the Orange County Sheriff's Office.

Michael Peter Ill was booked into the Orange County Jail on Friday on a felony criminal mischief charge. During a first appearance Saturday morning, a judge set Ill's bond at $100,000.

Deputies say Ill spray painted swastikas on several buildings along Alafaya Trail on Christmas Day.

A picture tweeted by the Sheriff's Office on Saturday appears to be from surveillance video and shows one of the swastikas being spray painted.

"It's unacceptable," said Ben Friedman, director of the Jewish Community Relations Council. "It's not a joke. It's not funny, (and) it's not something to be taken lightly. It's very serious."

A man whose business was spray-painted called for an end to these crimes.

"It's unacceptable, and we hope never to see it again," Christian Kyle said.

"We're very glad that an arrest was made," Friedman said. "We're glad to see that the Orange County Sheriff's Office followed up on this and took it as seriously as we do."
