ORLANDO, Fla. — A teacher sitting outside of an Orlando school was struck by a stray bullet Tuesday afternoon, Orange County Sheriff's officials said.

The incident happened at about 12:30 p.m. on South Ivey Lane, outside Scholar's Prep Academy. Deputies said two vehicles were involved in a shooting on the northwest corner of Gore Street and Ivey Lane, and one of the bullets hit the teacher.

Saundra Penson, 64, was taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

One of the people who deputies said was involved in the shooting met with detectives but ultimately stopped talking and declined to prosecute, they said.
