DELAND, Fla. -- Two people have been arrested in connection with graffiti being painted in downtown DeLand, according to police.

  • Arrests made after several locations painted with graffiti
  • Bryant Best, Amanda Teague accused of "tagging" locations
  • Both were charged with criminal mischief

Bryant Best, 31, and Amanda Teague, 27, are accused of "tagging" several locations with graffiti in the past week, including a statue outside City Hall.

Early Saturday, an officers responded to West Georgia Avenue after recieving an anonymous tip about two people painting on the walls downtown.

Best and Teague were found in the parking lot of a bar with paint cans and a cardboard stencil, according to police. When the officer encountered the pair, he noticed both had black spray paint on their hands.

Both Best and Teague told the officer they had done nothing wrong.  

Best and Teague were charged with criminal mischief. Teague was also charged with resisting arrest without violence after trying to walk away from the officer multiple times, according to police.
