Elvis Edgardo Soto, 20 of Orlando was arrested early Tuesday and is facing a charge of third-degree grand theft.

Soto was reported to the Orange County Sheriff's Office on December 7 by a loss prevention worker at Amazon's Boggy Creek Road facility, according to an arrest affidavit.

The worker ran reports for gift cards that had been redeemed within six hours of being fulfilled by the location, and a quick investigation linked Soto to the redeemed gift cards, deputies said. The security worker said customers were sent empty packages but had since been reimbursed.

The value of the items and gift cards taken was $3,970, deputies said. Some of the items Soto is accused of buying include an Apple MacBook Pro, a digital camera, and audio and auto equipment.

Amazon told the Associated Press that Soto no longer works for the company.
