ORLANDO, Fla. — The chilly weather has returned to Central Florida, and it is going to be cold waking up for both Tuesday and Wednesday morning.

Temperatures will be dropping into the low to mid-40s for most locations Tuesday morning. A few areas to the north in Marion and Flagler counties could fall into the upper 30s. Temperatures will only recover to the upper 50s and lower 60s for Tuesday afternoon.

Clouds will stick around for the first half of the day with clearing skies by the afternoon. There will be more sunshine on Tuesday compared to Monday. The breezes will be up out of the northwest from 10 to 20 mph.

Skies will be mostly sunny on Wednesday after another chilly start. Wednesday morning looks to be the coldest morning of the week. Many areas will feel the 30s and lower 40s to start the day.

Clouds will then begin to increase ahead of our next cold front on Thursday. Skies will be mostly cloudy on Thursday afternoon. Temperatures, however, will warm back up into the lower 70s with morning temperatures starting out in the upper 40s and lower 50s.

Temperatures will warm up into the middle 70s before the cold front passes through on Friday evening. The wind will pick up ahead of the cold front with winds shifting out of the south and southwest.

There will not be a sharp drop in temperatures behind this cold front on Saturday. Clouds will linger on Saturday, but the afternoon should be dry after a slight chance for a few showers during the morning hours.

Temperatures will start out in the upper 50s and lower 60s on Saturday morning with afternoon highs back to near 70 degrees. It will be another breezy afternoon behind the front.

Sunday will be partly to mostly cloudy with temperatures dipping into the 50s to start and afternoon highs reaching the 70s. The clouds increase in coverage again on Monday with more wind and high temperatures in the low to mid-70s.

If you’re boating today, there is a small craft caution that continues through Tuesday evening. The winds will remain strong out of the northwest at 15 to 20 knots with seas of 5 to 7 feet. The waters will be choppy on the intracoastal.

If you’re heading to the beaches, there will be poor surfing conditions in the morning but fair conditions by the afternoon. Wave heights will be 2 to 4 feet with rising northeast swells.

The rip current risk remains elevated so it is best to use extreme caution when heading into the waters and too swim within sight of a lifeguard. Ocean water temperatures are in the middle to upper 60s.
