DELTONA, Fla. — Volusia County Sheriff’s Office deputies are searching for three suspects after a Deltona woman says she was carjacked late Wednesday night.

According to an incident report, the 19-year-old woman had just returned home from work in her 2002 white, four-door Ford Escort — with the Florida tag JELH76 — when two men approached her and asked if she could help them jump-start their vehicle.

The woman says she declined to do so, and the two men subsequently pulled out handguns, allegedly pointing it toward her and demanding that she get out of the vehicle.

She told deputies that after she complied and got out of the Ford, the men went into the vehicle and quickly fled the scene.

The woman also told investigators that she saw a third man, allegedly walking in unison with the two suspects behind the carjacking, was also seen along Sanborn Lane.

Anyone with information on the alleged carjacking or has seen the vehicle is encouraged to call 911. The Ford Escort also has a Michigan State college tag on the front of it.
