KISSIMMEE, Fla. — Dozens of people in a tourist area of Osceola County are cleaning up a mess after about 78 cars were broken into overnight.

  • 78 vehicles broken into at two Kissimmee hotels
  • Another vehicle break-in occurred at a nearby Burger King Tuesday
  • OCSO won't say if Tuesday's break-in was related to overnight break-ins

Coach David Hinton was visiting Central Florida from Tucson, Arizona with more than 20 youth football players in town for a tournament. One of the team’s vans was broken into, and the windows smashed.

“We wake up, vans vandalized. We start calling Lyft, Uber, and everything else to try to get ride put together just to get the kids to the game,” Hinton said.

As deputies were investigating, another vehicle break-in occurred near a Burger King in a plaza across from one of the hotels.

The Burger King was temporarily closed while the search for a suspect goes on.

It is not known if the incident Tuesday afternoon is related to the overnight spree. Deputies are remaining tight lipped about the investigation, only telling Spectrum News by email they are investigating the incident.
