NATIONWIDE – A new Captain Marvel trailer dropped during ESPN's Monday Night Football.

Marvel made the announcement about the release Sunday night on Twitter, along with a new poster.

"Check out the new poster and tune-in to @ESPN's Monday Night Football to see the brand new trailer for Marvel Studios' #CaptainMarvel," the tweet said.

The first Captain Marvel teaser, which was released in September, opened with Carol Davners (Brie Larson) as she crash-landed into a Blockbuster store. She also met up with a young Nick Fury (Samuel Jackson) as she tried to remember he past life on Earth.

Here's the official synopsis for Captain Marvel:

"Set in the 1990s, Marvel Studios' Captain Marvel is an all-new adventure from a previously unseen period in the history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe that follows the journey of Carol Danvers as she becomes one of the universe's most powerful heroes. While a galactic war between two alien races reaches Earth, Danvers finds herself and a small cadre of allies at the center of the maelstrom."

Co-directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck, the film also stars Jude Law, Ben Mendelsohn, Djimon Hounsou, Lee Pace, Lashana Lynch, Gemma Chan, Rune Temte, Algenis Perez Soto, Mckenna Grace, with Annette Bening and Clark Gregg.

Captain Marvel is set to hit theaters March 8, 2019.
