DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — A man wanted in two states is now in custody after taking officers on a wild chase and slamming into police cruisers, according to officials. 

  • Jason Gibson is wanted for a Texas homicide
  • 38-year-old man is also wanted for kidnapping in New Mexico

Daytona Beach Police Department stated in an incident report that Jason Gibson was wanted for homicide in Texas and kidnapping in New Mexico.

U.S. Marshals spotted Gibson driving in Daytona Beach on South Ridgewood Avenue at around 4:52 p.m., Tuesday.

As he tried getting away, investigators say he smashed into the patrol cars.

He then tried running and threw a .22 caliber revolver to the ground before police caught him, according to the report.

In addition to the out-of-state charges, the 38-year-old Texas man was charged with two counts of aggravated assault for crashing into officers.
