MILWAUKEE -- GE Healthcare is laying off dozens of employees at the Wauwatosa facility. A letter from the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development states GE Global will lay off about 60 employees at the start of the year.

The majority of the positions are in the accounts receivable department and the plant will remain open. In June the company announced that GE Healthcare would branch off into its own company, while GE continues to restructure.

GE Healthcare employs roughly 6,000 people in the state with operations in Milwaukee, Madison, and Waukesha.
