PENDER COUNTY, N.C. -- A Wilmington woman is dead after an accident in Pender County.

• Barbara Lanier was killed.
• Accident happened Saturday night on Stag Park Road.
• Highway Patrol believes alcohol may have been a factor.

It happened Saturday night on Stag Park Road near Stoney Road.         

According to the State Highway Patrol, 52-year-old Barbara Lanier was killed when her car ran off the side of the road.

They said Lanier overcorrected and then drove off the left side of the road and hit a mailbox and a tree.         

Authorities believe alcohol may have been a factor in the wreck.
