A fire has destroyed an Orlando-area auto repair shop early Friday, according to Orange County Fire Rescue.

  • Auto repair shop near 6th Street and Sidney Haynes Road
  • Residents nearby saw fire and called authorities
  • Firefighters haven't determined a cause

The fire started at the building on 6th Street and Sidney Hayes Road. Residents living nearby saw the fire and called authorities.

Firefighters say a couple of cars at the shop also caught on fire.

The main fire has been contained, but firefighters are monitoring hotspots.

No injuries were reported, and no one was inside the building at the time, firefighters say. The activing battalion chief says the building is a total loss.

"All we started hearing was little explosions and stuff, like paint cans... And next thing we looked, and the whole building was on fire," nearby resident Rhonda Boos said.

Fire officials aren’t sure how the fire started.

The state fire marshal will be investigating the cause.
