Police are searching for a someone on a bicycle who was allegedly shooting into cars on U.S. 1 in Cocoa on Thursday night.

Cocoa Police shut down the southbound lanes of U.S. 1 between Michigan Avenue and Dixon Boulevard as they searched for the suspect.

The road is now back open.

Witnesses calling into 911 said they saw a man on a bike shooting at vehicles on the highway. No vehicles were hurt, and no one was injured.

The witnesses said the man was last seen heading into a wooded area near the railroad track.

Police recovered a bike they say the man was riding. They described him as dark-skinned, wearing a black hat and black clothing and carrying a red backpack. They say he had a "scruffy" face.
