Five Seminole County school buses carrying students were struck by a tractor-trailer Wednesday afternoon in a hit-and-run crash, officials said.

Michael Lawrence, a spokesman with Seminole County Public Schools, said a tractor-trailer hit the five buses on County Road 46A and then fled the scene.

The incident happened around 1:40 p.m.

The bus only damaged the mirrors on the buses.

Four students were treated at the scene, Lawrence said. Three were released and one was transported to Central Florida Regional Hospital in Sanford.

The truck driver was given a ticket for extending outside the lane he was occupying.
