Donald Trump has been elected the 45th president of the United States, defeating Hillary Clinton in the 2016 election.

  • Donald Trump animatronic to be added to attraction
  • Hall of Presidents will be closed for about 6 months for refurb
  • The attraction has been at the park since 1971

For Disney enthusiasts, the announcement means something specific: a new animatronic is coming to the Hall of Presidents attraction at the Magic Kingdom at Disney World.

It’s become a tradition every election cycle. President Barack Obama was added in 2009, George W. Bush in 2001 and Bill Clinton in 1993.

The attraction features every U.S. president on one stage, tracing the history of the country.

The Hall of Presidents is scheduled to be closed from Jan. 17, 2017 through June 29, 2017 for refurbishment, Disney announced on its website. The nearly six-month closure will presumably give Disney Imagineers time to assemble a Trump animatronic as well as rework the show.

Disney has not made an official announcement about how the new president will be included in the attraction.

The Hall of Presidents is a staple of the Magic Kingdom; it opened with the park in 1971.
