A luxury jet-making company is taking off in Brevard County as it gets set to build another manufacturing facility on the Space Coast.

Brazil-based Embraer held a groundbreaking ceremony Wednesday for its new Aero Seating Technologies plant in Titusville.

Embraer will build a 50,000-square-foot facility in Spaceport Commerce Park. The company already has a big footprint in Melbourne.

Embraer assembles corporate jets at its facility at Melbourne International Airport and employs hundreds of people. There will also be a customer care center.

The new facility will design and manufacture high-quality seats for airplanes. The plant is expected to create about 150 jobs over the next four years. The average annual wage will be about $48,000.

The company acquired a California seat maker and decided to move operations to Central Florida.

Brevard County leaders pitched in $2.5 million in incentives to bring the seat production facility to the area.

The $3.5 million manufacturing facility is expected to be operational in 2016.
