A man has been arrested and charged with DUI manslaughter after troopers say he struck and killed a bicyclist Saturday morning in Winter Park.

It happened around 11:30 a.m. at the intersection of N. Semoran Boulevard and Hanging Moss Road.

FHP said the cyclist was waiting to cross to the west side of Semoran Boulevard when Alicea drove his 1987 White Nissan Pickup truck onto the median.

Troopers arrested 33-year-old Eric Alicea after a field sobriety test was performed.

Troopers are also waiting for his blood tests to see if he was drunk and/or high on drugs. On Saturday, damage to Alicea's Nissan was visible on the front bumper, the hood and windshield. A mangled bike could also be seen in the middle of the road. Parts of Semoran Boulevard were closed while troopers investigated the crash.

FHP has not released the bicyclist's name but say he is a 49-year-old man who lived in Winter Park.  He was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, according to FHP.
