A brush fire is burning right now next to I-95 in south Brevard County.

The fire is now more than 150 acres and is burning near the southbound side of the interstate, near the Grant Road overpass. The fire is about 80 percent contained, according to Florida Forestry Service. Tractor plow units are putting in fire lines.

Specifically, the fire is within the area of Babcock Street, Whynot Drive, I-95 and Grant Road. Drivers are being asked to avoid the area.

Some sheds and fences were lost in the fire, and seven homes are threatened on Babcock Street Grant Road. Fire crews said to avoid Babcock Street at all costs.
