Police in Tavares arrested a man for urinating on books in a public library.
Police said they got a call about Benjamin Wilson, 24, at the Tavares Public Library over the weekend. Library staff said he was stumbling around the library and appeared to be either drunk or on drugs.
Wilson's eyes were not reacting to light change and his speech was slurred, he was also having trouble standing and making a complete thought. It was only after police got Wilson out of the library that staff told police a patron saw him urinate on some books. The staff said Wilson did about $1,000 in damage to the books, which were wet.
Police said they found a half of a white pill inside a green cigarette pack, which is being sent to the FDLE for testing. They suspect he was on some kind of narcotic.
Police said Wilson is homeless, and was using the library's WiFi to download apps to his tablet.
