An investigation is underway in Volusia County after a woman was found dead after a mobile home caught fire.

The fire broke out around 10:30 p.m. Wednesday at home on Landis Avenue in Port Orange.

When Port Orange firefighters they worked to put out the flames but said they had trouble getting into the home and encountered some problems due to the overgrown shrubbery around the home.

"The great difficulty number one was having the vegetation where we couldn't gain access or throw a proper water stream to effect a safe extinguishment. The other hazard was that it was completely involved in flames," said Port Orange Deputy Fire Chief Port Orange Chris Weir.

After firefighters put out the blaze, a city bulldozer was brought in to get inside and they found the woman dead in the living room.

Her name has not been released.

The State Fire Marshal is working to determine how the fire started.
