Seven people have been taken to area hospitals after a van struck a LYNX bus in Orange County, south of downtown Orlando.

Orange County firefighters said the crash happened sometime before 1:43 p.m. on South Orange Blossom Trail, near Duskin Avenue, just south of Americana Boulevard in the Oak Ridge area.

Five people were transported to Orlando Regional Medical Center, and two others were taken to the Osceola Regional Medical Center's Hunter's Creek ER, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. Two more people were checked out at the scene but not transported.

None of the nine patients had life-threatening injuries, FHP said.

The cause of the crash, and the condition of the occupant or occupants of the black van that struck the bus, were not immediately released.

FHP troopers have begun investigating the crash. Orange County Fire Rescue posted the following information regarding the crash on Twitter:
