Orange County deputies said three people have been found dead after a fire broke out at an Orlando apartment complex early Tuesday morning.

The fire broke out around 3 a.m. at the Misty Oaks Apartments, located at 744 Spring West Rd.

When Orange County Fire Rescue arrived, they found intense flames shooting from a second story apartment.

Dozens of residents were forced out of their homes as firefighters worked to put out the fire.

"I heard screams outside and thought maybe there was a fight. But when I looked outside, I just saw a bright big light," said Gilbert Jean-Lewis, a neighbor.

Fire officials said two people were found dead inside the apartment. A third body was located as fire investigators searched the apartment.  Another person was transported to the hospital for smoke inhalation.

"That unit is a one bedroom, one bathroom, and it's just severe damage," said Lt. Paul Patterson from the State Fire Marshal's Office.

The names and ages of the victims have not been released.

The Red Cross is helping find places for displaced residents, who were unable to return home.

Detectives from the Orange County Sheriff's Office are at the scene conducting a death investigation.

The State Fire Marshal’s Office is working to determine how the fire started.
