An appellate court issued a ruling Tuesday on the controversial glass bank building in Cocoa Beach that moves it one step closer to demolition.

According to the attorney for the Glass Bank Condominium Association, Scott Widerman, the 5th District Court of Appeal has ruled in favor of his client which wants the building torn down.

Widerman plans to foreclose on the property, take control and carry out an agreement with the city of Cocoa Beach to demolish it.

Under the agreement, the city will demolish the building and clear the site. The owners will then have three years to pay the city back for the cost of tearing the building down.
