A man has died after falling 30 feet from a ropes course at the new Artegon Marketplace on Christmas Eve.

Orlando fire crews responded to marketplace, formerly the Festival Bay Mall, around 5:30 p.m. Wednesday after receiving a call about someone who fell from the Sky Trail ropes course.

It was not immediately known what caused the man to fall.

The man, who was not immediately identified, was rushed to Dr. Phillips Hospital, where he later died, Orlando police confirmed.

The Sky Trail opened in November with the Artegon Orlando Marketplace.

The owner of the Sky Trail said his thoughts and prayers were with the man's family, and that he will fully cooperate with state and local agencies.

Artegon Marketplace posted the following statement Wednesday on Facebook:

It is with sadness that we report that at approximately 5:30 p.m. today, a man fell 30 feet from a Skytrail Ropes Attraction at Artegon Marketplace Orlando, according to information provided by Orlando Fire Officials. The man was taken by ambulance to Dr. Phillips Hospital where he has died as a result of his injuries. The reason for this tragic accident is unclear, but is being investigated by Skytrail Ropes and local authorities.

FB Orlando Acquisition Company, owner of Artegon Marketplace, is in close communications with the owners of Skytrail and the Orlando Police Department. Skytrail will be making all further announcements regarding this situation. We extend our condolences and prayers to the family.
