The driver of a recreational vehicle was killed in a crash in Volusia County Saturday.

It happened around 2 p.m. on Interstate 95, just north of Dunlawton.

The Florida Highway Patrol said the driver of the RV, later identified as 64-year-old William Constant, lost control and hit a tree when a tire blew out.

The RV caught fire and charred an area on the side of the interstate, which was delayed for hours.

The driver was the only person inside and was pronounced dead on the scene. Troopers said several bystanders tried to rescue the driver, but the flames were to big already.

A small brush fire broke out, but was quickly extinguished.

Earlier, in Orange County, a crash closed Interstate 4 after police said a woman drove the wrong way and caused a five-car crash.
