Buddy Dyer expressed his gratitude for the confidence the city of Orlando has shown in him as mayor as he was sworn in Friday to his fourth term.

The mayor took the oath of office shortly after 10:30 a.m. during an inauguration ceremony.

Dyer won re-election in April with well over the 50 percent of the vote from Orlando residents.

Friday marked the beginning of Dyer's third full term as mayor. He first took the job after a special election in 2003, and then won re-election in 2004, 2008 and now 2012.

Four city commissioners were also sworn in Friday, including freshman Commissioner Jim Gray, who now represents District 1.

District 2 Commissioner Tony Ortiz and District 6 Commissioner Samuel Ings were both sworn in for their second terms, District 4 commissioner Patty Sheehan began her fourth term.
