PANAMA CITY, Fla. — Many people in Florida's Panhandle need help to get back on their feet just two months to the day after Hurricane Michael hit.

Dozens of people who have been living in a makeshift "tent city" in a Panama City church parking lot will need a new home.

The church is closing the tent city on Monday.

The tents have provided relief for many who were forced out of their homes by the deadly hurricane.

Tyndall Air Force Base was also hit hard by Hurricane Michael and it could receive 72 new fighter planes.

Three squadrons of F-35 fighter jets are expected to come to the base in the next five years, according to the Panama City News Herald.

This could bring more than 2,000 new pilots to the base as well.

Personnel have been returning to the base over the last several weeks following Hurricane Michael.
