Here all you need to know about the Sunken Gardens in St. Petersburg before you visit.

  1. The Sunken Gardens are built down into an ancient sinkhole. At its deepest point, it’s 15 feet below the street level.
  2. You can find exotic plants from around the world and plenty of animals, including their iconic flock of pink flamingos.
  3. The gardens were first built in 1903 and became one of Florida’s original roadside attractions by the 1930s.
  4. The gardens are open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and on Sunday from noon to 4:30 p.m.
