ORLANDO, Fla. — Disney World is updating the parking lot at EPCOT will new section names and signs.

What You Need To Know

  • Disney is renaming sections in the EPCOT parking lot

  • The sections will now feature character names such as Moana, Wall-E and Rocket

  • The parking lot will also be divided into two sides: Earth and Space

Instead of parking in Amaze, Create, Journey or Discover, visitors will park in sections named after Disney characters, including those that are represented in the park.

Moana, HeiHei, Crush and Dory will be the section names on the newly-designated “Earth” side of the parking lot. The new “Space” side will include sections named Wall-E, Eve, Rocket and Gamora.

The new signs are also color-coded, with Earth sections getting a light green and Space sections getting purple.

In a post on Instagram, Walt Disney Imagineering also announced that EPCOT’s auto plaza marquee will be redesigned and installed “in the coming weeks.”

The parking lot change, which has been in the works for a while, is part of the ongoing transformation at EPCOT, which has included a redesigned entrance plaza and new attractions such as Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind.

Friday’s announcement didn’t include an update on when the parking lot trams would return to EPCOT. Disney previously said tram service would return to all its parks last year.
