LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. — Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith, one of the most popular thrill rides at Disney World, is set to close for a lengthy refurbishment in 2023.

The indoor coaster located at Disney’s Hollywood Studios will temporarily shut down starting Feb. 20. During the closure, the ride will undergo what is being described as “routine maintenance.”

Disney has yet to release an exact reopening date, but, according to a notice on its official website, the coaster is expected to be back up and running by the summer.

“This rocktastic attraction will resume its super-stretch limo rides in summer 2023,” the statement reads.

Opened in 1999 when the park was known as Disney-MGM Studios, Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster takes riders speeding past Hollywood landmarks as a soundtrack of Aerosmith songs play in speakers near their heads.
